Devkund Waterfall is a very beautiful waterfall in Maharashtra. It is near Bhira village in Raigad district. The water is clean and clear, and the place is full of green trees and nature. The area is quiet and calm, which makes it a nice place to visit. This trip to Devkund Waterfall also included a visit to Gagangiri Maharaj Math, Khopoli, which added a spiritual touch to the journey.
Devkund Waterfall is near Bhira Dam. It is about 170 km from Mumbai and around 110 km from Pune. To reach Devkund, travel from Mumbai or Pune towards the Khopoli – Pali – Bhira road. The trek starts from Bhira village. Parking is available near the village, and local guides are also available. It is best to start early in the morning to avoid crowds and enjoy the place peacefully.
The trek to Devkund Waterfall is around 4–5 km (one way) and takes approximately 2.5–3 hours depending on your pace.
The trek is moderate and suitable for beginners with basic fitness levels. During monsoon, the trail becomes slippery, so proper trekking shoes are highly recommended.
Devkund is a plunge waterfall, where water falls straight down into a natural pool. The water is extremely clear and cold, making it a refreshing experience.
Reaching Devkund is truly a breathtaking moment. Surrounded by high cliffs and lush greenery, the waterfall feels calm, pure, and untouched by heavy commercialization.

On the way back, I visited Gagangiri Maharaj Math in Khopoli, a peaceful and spiritual place.
Gagangiri Maharaj was a revered saint, and the Math attracts devotees from all over Maharashtra. The calm atmosphere, simple architecture, and positive energy make it a perfect place to relax after an adventurous trek.
Avoid weekends if you prefer less crowd. Post-monsoon season is also good for trekking with safer conditions.
Devkund Waterfall is a perfect destination for nature lovers, trekkers, and photographers. The combination of adventure, scenic beauty, and spiritual peace at Gagangiri Maharaj Math made this trip truly special.
